Podcasts and storytelling

In our humble opinion, the best pictures are on the radio. And audio is king. In 2025, a third of UK adults – over 11 million – listened a podcast, and almost nine in ten tuned into the radio at least once a week. (Source : Ofcom)

Audio has the power to take you to places that put you at the heart of the story. With over 25 years of experience in broadcasting, Kevin can deliver compelling content tailored to your needs. Whether it’s a one off promotional pod, or a season of people-focussed business talks. But enough of the written words, scroll down to listen to some of Kevin’s work.

The Audio showreel

Top of the hour

Every radio station needs a contemporary, relaxed and natural sound to its hourly news bulletins. Kevin can fit in with your station’s style – these from BBC Radio Leicester and BBC Radio Nottingham in 2026.

The Podcast – redefined

How many podcasts have you heard that are set in a boring airless studio? All of them, right? Kevin takes a more creative approach, on location – mixing contemporary content with a slice of history, complete with original music imaging throughout. Here’s a taste of TravelCaster, the only travel podcast recorded on location.

In 2016, I created the NottsNight website, a platform celebrating Nottingham’s thriving night time economy. Four years later, I also produced an accompanying podcast – again, done where possible on location.

Music Imaging

Whether it’s a podcast, a commercial or a corporate video, I can provide original music, composed and mixed with variations to suit the mood.

Celebrating success

When Nottingham College opened its new city hub, the building looked great. But as my storytelling demonstrates, it’s the people inside who really make a narrative shine.

Bringing heritage to life

The Sky Mirror – designed by Anish Kapoor – attracts worldwide attention. On its twentieth birthday, I took listeners on a short, engaging history lesson.

The Windrush Scandal

Windrush

As the Government put into place its compensation scheme, I spoke to the Nottingham families torn apart by the Windrush Scandal.

A new home for Robin Hood

Nottingham Castle

Nottingham Castle was undergoing a £24 million transformation. It’s a huge project, and I was given special access to see the progress being made.

Prescriptions in plastic…

BootsLogo

Nottingham-based Boots has had customers “livid” and “baffled” when it started dispensing some prescriptions in plastic bags rather than paper ones. I gathered instant reaction for the morning news from one of its flagship stores.

Animal Magic

Stonebridge

They almost had to close, but Stonebridge City Farm was saved thanks to generous donations from the local community – who TRIPLED its fundraising target in a matter of months.

Let the train take the strain

Azuma

Using technology inspired by Japanese Bullet Trains, the Azuma was the first new rolling stock on the East Coast mainline for decades. So what could passengers expect?

Down the local…

Reindeer

There’s nothing like a “people power” story to make you feel good. Meet the villagers who saved their own pub.

The doctor will see you now…

GP Surgery

As figures show a recruitment crisis in General Practice, I spent a day in the life behind the scenes at a local doctor’s surgery – meeting the staff and patients.

The centre of the world

Trent Bridge

When international cricket comes to Nottingham, Trent Bridge is transformed into a giant sports village. And even if they don’t make any extra cash, the local traders love it.

The £120m road signs

SmartMWay

Smart Motorways are becoming an ever-more common experience for motorists. I tracked down the man who brought the concept to the UK.
